The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) is a sovereign wealth fund established in 1999 with the aim of managing and safeguarding Azerbaijan’s oil and gas revenues for the benefit of both present and future generations. The fund plays a crucial role in preserving national wealth, ensuring intergenerational equity, and promoting sustainable economic development.

SOFAZ manages an investment portfolio that includes equities, fixed-income securities, real estate, and other financial instruments. The fund follows a strategic approach to investments, aiming to ensure long-term financial sustainability and contribute to the country's economic stability.

The primary goal of this role is to verify, settle, and reconcile transactions related to the investment portfolio. The selected candidate will operate in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and both local and international financial regulations.


What You Will Do:

  • Verifying and settling transactions related to assets managed internally within the investment portfolio;
  • Maintaining records of transactions managed by external investment managers;
  • Reconciling correspondent and custodial bank accounts, liquidity funds, and subsidiary company balances, as well as market positions in custodial banks, and resolving discrepancies;
  • Preparing comprehensive reports on investment accounting and submitting them to relevant departments;
  • Ensuring compliance with SOFAZ's internal policies, procedures, and local/international financial regulations.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field;
  • 1-2 years of work experience in banking operations, accounting, or finance. (Recent graduates with strong academic achievements are also encouraged to apply);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint;
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken);
  • Knowledge of the SWIFT system is preferred but not mandatory.
