The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) is a sovereign wealth fund established in 1999 to manage and safeguard Azerbaijan's oil and gas revenues for the benefit of current and future generations. The Private Equity Analyst role at SOFAZ offers an opportunity to shape the fund's investment strategy and portfolio management. Responsibilities include analyzing investment proposals, conducting due diligence, and monitoring portfolio performance to support SOFAZ's mission of managing Azerbaijan's sovereign wealth sustainably. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is crucial for preparing Investment Committee presentations and sharing insights on market trends and investment opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, and a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related fields. Fluency in Azerbaijani and English is required. Prior experience in investment roles is preferred, but we also welcome proactive learners passionate about financial markets and sustainability. What You Will Do?:

• Analyze investment proposals and provide opinions both verbally and in writing.
• Conduct due diligence of private equity/infrastructure funds and co-investment proposals.
• Review the business/valuation models of potential co-investments and perform sensitivity and scenario analysis.
• Conduct research to form views on sectoral and geographical developments in the private equity market.
• Prepare and present Investment Committee presentations on targeted investments and research topics.
• Regularly share views and discuss ideas on investments and other relevant topics with team members, both verbally and in writing.
• Participate in building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential partners.
• Monitor the private equity portfolio quarterly and perform monthly fund reconciliations.
• Support the team and other colleagues in various projects and requests.

What You Will Need?:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, business administration, mathematics, etc.); a master's degree is preferred;
• Proficiency in using MS Office programs for financial and statistical analysis;
• 1-3 years of professional experience in consulting/transaction services (business valuation, financial audits, M&A) or in the investment and corporate finance departments of companies and organizations is desirable;
• Strong analytical thinking and market/sector research skills are an advantage;
• Excellent command of Azerbaijani and English is required.
